Chiropractic

Chiropractic practice is a drug- free, manual approach to health care that focuses on the source of your pain and discomfort, not the symptoms. Chiropractic care can, therefore, achieve long-term relief as opposed to masking the symptoms. Chiropractors address disorders related to the spine, pelvis and extremity joints, as well as their effects on the nervous system.

During your initial consultation, the chiropractor will obtain a comprehensive history, assess your chief complaint, and provide you with a diagnosis of your condition. She will relate to you her prescribed treatment regimen and perform a treatment, if appropriate. Doctors of Chiropractic also recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a hands-on form of manipulation of the body’s soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and joint capsules. More and more people incorporate massage therapy into their general health care. It can be either purely relaxation, but more often is used for its therapeutic effects. The benefits of massage therapy include decreased pain, muscular tension and hypertonicity, and decreased anxiety.

The physical repercussions manifested secondary to psychological, stress-related illnesses can be significant. Benefits also include increased blood circulation and joint mobility, and improved immune system function. A therapeutic massage can be a significant contributing factor to the enhancement of your overall emotional and physical well-being, as well as your quality
of life.

Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics are prescribed insoles, custom fitted for each patient. Foot orthotics are inserted in your footwear and are designed to restore and maintain proper biomechanics of the feet. When appropriately prescribed, orthotics can also address biomechanical imbalances present in other parts of the body, such as ankles, knees, hips and lower back. By allowing the muscles, tendons and bones of the feet to function at their highest potential, orthotics help decrease pain associated with many conditions, and help achieve optimal posture.
